Ezekial 18:21-23, 30-32

21 But if the wicked turn away from all the sins they have committed and keep all my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live; they will not die. 22 None of the offenses they have committed will be remembered against them. Because of the righteous things they have done, they will live. 23 Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?

30 Therefore, house of Israel, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. 31 Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, house of Israel? 32 For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!

1.  God finds no ___________________________(a) in the destruction of the wicked.

  • God takes pleasure in life.

2.  Hell wasn’t created for __________________________(b)

Matthew 25:41

Then he will say to those on his left, “Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”

  • God will not stop you from going to hell if you insist on going.

3.  All of us will __________________________(c) forever, but not all of us will ______________________(d) forever.

Ephesians 2:1-2

1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

  • God refuses to make us love Him.

4.  God will stop the ______________________________(e)

Malachi 4:1-3

1 “Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the LORD Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them. 2 But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. 3 Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the LORD Almighty.

  • Evil is not okay with God.

Conversations:

1.  Have you ever had someone pursue you, but you weren’t interested?   How do you think that person may have felt?

2.  Do you think there is anyone God takes pleasure in their going to hell?  Why or why not?

3.  If hell indeed is real, what should be some responses of Christ followers?

4.  Did you ever make a decision you regretted?  How did you feel afterward?  Could you somehow reverse your decision?

5.  Why do you think God refuses to make us love Him?

6.  If our eternal position is based on our response to God’s love, then what are the logical responses?

Sinner’s Prayer:

Dear God, I ask you to forgive me of the sins I have done and those I don’t even know I have done.  I’m choosing to believe that Jesus died on the cross for me to forgive me of my sins and give me a new way to live.  So I receive that gift of salvation today and cross over from death to life.  And I ask the Holy Spirit to fill me and be the leader of my life. AMEN
