Youth Development Director at Crossroads
Crossroads Church has been a part of Sara’s personal development for 25 years – supporting, encouraging and serving as her life line during some of the hardest moments of her life.
She has worked with youth in various capacities, and is thrilled to bring her experiences home to create opportunities for youth to become more active in social justice, expand their understanding of compassion, intensify their commitment to creating positive change, have LOTS of FUN and enjoy positive peer experiences! “I’m expecting to be challenged and inspired,” said Sara. “It’s a blessing to give back. Great days are ahead!”
Sara earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University with a triple concentration in psychology, sociology and anthropology and a minor in substance abuse counseling. She has also earned a master’s of public health from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She is a certified TPIS Trainer and trained as a Communities that Care Coordinator.
Prior to joining the Crossroads staff, Sara worked as a health educator at District Health Department #10, with a focus on preventing youth drug and alcohol abuse. She was also a community educator at Sexual Assault Services, with a primary focus on prevention education with kindergarten through college age.
Sara has a wonderful husband, Warren, and two amazing boys, Lorenzo and Dante.
